We are an independent, marine specialist with over 45 years combined experience in the hobby. You can be assured that the advice you receive is from a place of genuine interest, passion and first-hand experience. We endeavour to simplify the hobby and make it accessible and easily understandable to newcomers.

We pride ourselves on being a very personable, friendly team that will go the extra mile for our customers, and we take the health of our livestock very seriously.

As an independent retailer we are not tied to certain brands and therefore are able to choose the very best equipment across a wide range of suppliers. This ensures that we only stock tried and tested equipment to suit all budgets.
Southwest marines are proud to say we have worked with many schools, setting up and successfully maintaining reef systems for numerous educational projects throughout the South west of the UK.

We are also very proud to say Southwest marines have worked extensively in the wildlife film industry, working numerous times with the BBC, Apple Tv, Plimsoll productions, Offspring films and many more.

We can provide a full aquarium set up service and consultation from a small Pico tank to large build on site aquariums.

We usually have in stock over 100 species of fish with everything from the common clownfish to the very rare and unique. All our fish are hand picked and quarantined and not sold unless feeding, healthy and happy. We endeavour to fulfil any stocking requests you may have and receive new stock weekly.

Here at Southwest marines we have over 1000 corals in stock at any time. We have 6 dedicated frags systems totalling over 2000 ltrs with frags ranging from £10. We have a wide range of species to suit every level of reef keeping and we are on hand to give you the very best advice should you require it. All stock is priced for you to see and ease of your choices.
